In the years since it was established as twin web projection, Alphabetic African Timeline initially commenced as home-grown webproject founded at landmark in November 1992 with the vision of introducing and empowering the African continent through direct and indirect contacts with African governments embassies and heads of missions based in Addis Ababa, the Federal Ethiopian capital, and the chartered seat of the current African Union Commission (AUC).
I have successfully executed it by distributing questionnaires through telefax and the postal mail system, which were filled-out and counter-checked by their respective embassies and missions whose most of them accredited to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), and the African Union Commission (AUC) headquarter in Addis Ababa. I reached out through their respective Foreign (External Affairs) offices those without embassies and missions in Addis Ababa. Several government officials, resident career African diplomats in Addis Ababa, and the civic societies in various levels have contributed immensely to this e-Media content. Press reports, pan-African websites and publications are also used as resource and reference materials for this diary to specify timeline figures & facts.
The digitally separated four-colours e-Map of Africa publication entitled, “A to Z of AFRICA, General Information of African Nation States”, have been printed out several times in various size for local use in the past two decades of which had been kept in low profile. As seat of the African Union Commission (AUC), such Afro hypercontent had been considered as an indigenous initiative of its kind, and of course, has won a wide acclamation from governments of African states, the AU General Secretariat and the residing African diplomatic community based in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital and the seat of the African Union Commission (AUC).
The authors and proprietors of this e-platform would like to thank all the numerous people of countrymen and the African diplomatic community based in Addis Ababa, the seat of the African Union Commission (AUC) whose helped us in their outpouring support to achieve in our Afro friendly webproject.
